All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players (As You Like It -- William Shakespeare) These images use photography as a narrative form, where the characters are actors and the landscape the backdrop. Erving Goffman's perspective of dramaturgy, using a theatrical metaphor to define how people present themselves to each other, has been the main inspiration for this work. It explores the notion of the presentation of self, and the performance given by people to create specific impressions in the minds of others. To explore how people 'perform' they were asked 'How would you like to be represented?', so that they had at least the illusion of control over the outcome of the images.
