And All the Spaces in Between
This series provides a visual metaphor for the notion of liminal space, derived from the Latin word limen meaning 'threshold'. In psychological terms, it describes a transitional place between one state of being and another; a phase between separation and reintegration, where boundaries dissolve and reference points fall away. I have looked to the natural world and the intersections of earth and air to find expression of this in-between state. It is a space marked by ambiguity, disorientation and uncertainty but ultimately a space of potential transformation.
