Grief: deep sorrow, esp. that caused by someone's death. In this series I try to represent the lasting emotional effects which remain after the loss of a loved one. Once we have returned to 'normal life' I feel that we are simply wearing a veil of normality, we still carry this raw abundance of sorrow and grief which presented itself in the immediate aftermath of the death. It seems after a relatively short period of time it is no longer seen as socially acceptable to continue to grieve outwardly. We are pressured by society to move on and accept this loss when in reality we continue to grieve internally.
