escapism: (noun) - The tendency to seek distraction and relief from unpleasant realities, especially by seeking entertainment or engaging in fantasy. People use an airport for multiple reasons. It may be as a gateway to other lands, previously unknown. Or, as a hobby, with the activity of plane spotting - recording the information on the great machinery that is another cog in the wheel of the planet's transport systems. As the project developed, so did my outlook, where I realised I rely on the act of photographing as a form of escapism myself.
