Territories are a vital part of who we are. As we grow and change so do the spaces in which we reside. This series of images look at four generations of males and the spaces that they would consider their 'territory'. I elected to work with male models, as historically they are more territorial than females in most situations, often hostile to anyone trying to invade. Photographing each model at the same level gave them equal importance in the series, a direct front on gaze like this left little opportunity for me to impose a status onto them. I chose to accompany the main portraits with three smaller images focusing on the eyes, hands and feet of each model.
