100 Years In The Making
On December 10, 2013 a small engineering factory which had stood for over 100 years was bought by a large multinational corporation. It was made clear at the time that this would not affect the workers, the factory would not close, the machinery would not change and no one would be made redundant. On April 27, 2015 the factory will begin to close down. Machinery will be moved, sold and in some cases scrapped, having served diligently for over 100 years. Most workers will be relocated, others will leave voluntarily, but some will be made redundant. These photographs are 100 years in the making.
