Rachael Boys
The Enchantment Project
Inspired by the mysterious and cautionary creatures from various cultures' folklores, my work brings to life my own interpretation of these characters through the combination of my love of set and costume design with my interests and skills in fashion photography. By constructing each costume myself; making them out of materials I find and adapt, these characters have become personal to me. They are a collection of items I have gathered and changed so that now they can tell their own story to others. I have explored the importance of folklores and fairy tales as a tool for teaching. Through psychoanalysis, these early teachings could also prove to still have a subconscious impact later in life.
