This work started as a way to deal with traumatic experiences by using a phototherapy approach to photography. As the work developed I began to incorporate different elements and styles of photography, these effects have created palimpsests of imagery that have numerous layers and depth to them, the overall effect is unusual and complex in nature. The appearance of the work is not the main focus it is more about the process that made each image and how this process helped to heal me and became my own personal therapy rather than be aesthetically pleasing for the viewer. I desire for the work to help raise awareness of domestic abuse and the effects it has on the victim's mental health.
