My choice of representation was heavily influenced by the ideas of Zen Buddhism on Polar-thinking, which is to say that something concrete is to be explained in the abstract. I believe that grey is the most accurate symbol for any kind of perspective as grey is the personification of what it means to be both and neither; all at the same time. The future to me appears as an endless vague horizon where we form imaginative predictions of what we will encounter as we travel through this space. The piece is a conceptual reminder of our complete impermanence and of our illusions of any control within the singular direction our lives go in.
