Fossils

Playing with the nature of human curiosity and our desire to archive, document and immortalise existence, is a subject that has played an intrinsic role within our historical and visual culture. Drawing inspirations from archival methodology, through to contemporary museum preservation technologies; this collective of photographic works is an exploration into the concept surrounding the modern day fossil. Acting as evidence from our present that will soon become past with an intent for archeological exploration. The photographs are an abstract representation of found objects, detritus and natural materials. Preserved through the use of photographic, scientific and archival methods. They are presented and displayed as specimens for study as well as spectacle.
