Fragments
Beautification, simplification and selection is the nature of an image. This project uses the photographic medium in its original analogue form to question the perception of images. Images are deconstructed with a blade, yielding slightly disorienting one-off prints. These confront the viewer with the implications of fragments, manipulation and exclusions and challenges the truth. Never have humans been exposed to as much information as we are today. Alternative facts and fake news are prevalent in information sources and yet many without judgement accept these and selectively choose the information that confirm their individual points of view. This is the Post-truth era where we no longer seek the truth behind facts but choose selected fragments to support our pre-conceived beliefs.
