My aim with this project is to communicate the importance of family histories and life’s journeys. The main essence of the project is to capture the women in my family then and now, whilst also working with ideas of childhood memories and nostalgia. There is huge emphasis placed on the family album within this project, which I hope will become relatable to audiences’ own memories and experiences with photo albums within their own families. I have adopted a range of photographic techniques and materials in order to communicate the bond between the women in my family, and how the women in my family have made me who I am today. This work is intended with a photo book viewing in mind.
