Photography's Swan Song
My work is concerned with my own stream of consciousness. There is a rather simple way of reading these images, which is to remember one image you’ve seen using mental imagery and looking at the photograph in front of you. This creates the illusion of consciousness, and these images are what I call Mental Artefacts. The first thing you’ll notice about these Mental Artefacts is, firstly, these images are non representable, meaning they cannot exist in this physical reality. Only by entertaining the perceived image and the mental image is this non representable image achieved. The next thing you’ll notice certain ideas surrounding photography are made redundant, such as, composition, colour theory and other fundamentals to image making.
