'On Caring' is a collection of poetic imagery stemming from my experiences of being a young adult carer, to both my father and my younger sister. Considering the dynamics within my family, I began to decipher my own emotional responses to being a carer, exploring associated themes of isolation and the realms of personal escape. The work touches on the intimacy of my personal relationships to immediate family, exposing the shared vulnerability felt through the intensity of responsibility within the home. Seeking to connect experiences often reserved to the private sphere, the work forms a stream of consciousness or quiet reflection, juxtaposing the realities of the constant nature of being a carer.
