Souvenir of Germany
The project's images and photographic objects tell the stories of the land and man's impact on it. In the middle of Germany, near my home, is an area used for more than 130 years by German, French and American armies as a training ground, airfield and barracks. It houses Germanys' oldest airfield. The project deals with local history, but also world history is mirrored in this. Most buildings are abandoned today; only a few are in use for civil purposes. And then, there are the ruins, the visible traces of history. Soon, they will give way to housing. When they are gone, nothing will remind of the sites' history. Documenting what happened is this ongoing projects' goal.
