Black Notice
A Black Notice is issued by Interpol and An Garda Síochána when looking for information about unidentified deceased persons. In many cases the person may have been using a false identity. For more than ten years the Garda and Interpol have been trying to identify the body of Peter Bergmann. Nobody has ever come forward to identify him and he lies buried in an unmarked grave in County Sligo, Ireland. Much has been written and discussed about this case, the lack of personal information and details in a modern era, make this a fascinating subject. This unsolved mystery was the starting point to explore conceptual documentary photography at the intersection between fact and fiction, the raison d'être of photography itself.
