21 Miles
A multimedia documentary project that aims to describe the experience of the perilous twenty-one-mile journey across the English Channel, made by those desperately seeking safety and asylum. The video installation uses a single photograph taken in the middle of the English Channel and combines it with over 400 smart phone audio recordings taken from actual Chanel crossings, and the artists own recordings while out on location. In addition, the photographs portray the physical and emotional traces this demanding and terrifying journey leaves behind.
