Pursuit of Better
Since its creation in the post-war period, The Peak District has served as a destination for people to find peace. The rapid expansion of cities and the hope of a better life post-war paved the way for alternate architecture and a new face of Britain. I searched through the towns and villages situated around the Peak District looking for clues of this ‘Pursuit of Better’. The Peak District itself features in my images but never the main focus, I looked at it as if it was itself this ‘better life’ or the destination that we were in search of but never reaching. The duality of these locations showed this balance between happiness and unhappiness, right and wrong, good and bad.
