The role of photographer encompasses many aims including providing opportunities for the audience to reflect and consider the impact of images on their own behaviour. The work displayed in 'Sunbed subject A and B' shows the harsh truth of what happens to the body when subjected to the UV tanning bed in an attempt to enlighten people that abuse this bizarre culture. Millions of people across the country use sunbeds in their home or at tanning studios, for what is essentially a vanity driven desire to enhance self-image and attain better well-being. There are many detailed medical journals and public health warnings about the dangers of ultra violet light encountered through prolonged sunbathing, nevertheless people still feel that a bronzed body is desirable and the epitome of good health. The following pieces 'Six 2 minute interval's' and 'Vo2 Max' are documentary images of amateur triathletes and the gruelling training the put themselves through in search of improved progress and peak performance.
