A Childhood - Places and Memories
I have documented my childhood by revisiting and photographing places, which hold a specific meaning for me. Without my memories they are just places, but together they reflect a part of my life. Both photograph and text are required to convey the whole story. However, memories change over time, we forget things or add details that weren't there in the beginning. Similarly, places and our perception of them change as well. So what is the truth? Or does it matter? With my work I want to document the way memories influence how we see things, but can also be influenced by what we see. Ultimately it is an interpretation of my childhood, which is directed by myself and completed by the viewer.
