Hans Peter Auken Beck
The geography of our reality tends to be conceived as something only based on known facts and what we can see, excluding any deeper significance that might exist. I am interested in maintaining my wondering and wandering through mental and physical explorations of familiar domains. Tangible themes recurrent in my practice are the wheel, the fold and the grid which I try to see in relation to people's geographical imagination - the mechanism in which people come to know the world and situate themselves in space and time. My process has recently been manifesting itself in physical mechanisms and moving images. I am currently experimenting with alternative modes of presenting maps and the medium on which they are printed.
