Stephanie Parnell
My work explores ideas of the personal familial relationships and the spaces in which these relationships function. My practice uses photography, digital video, text and sound to explore these relationships. This collection of work explores the relationship I have with my grandmother and the relationship she has with her home, and it has taken the form of two books. Throughout my practical process I have been inspired by artists such as Marjolaine Ryley, Rinko Kawauchi, Mitch Epstein, Rosy Martin and Larry Sultan.
