Rhetoric of the Google ImageThis project discusses the relationship between language and images. In Rhetoric of the Google Image each image is taken from Google on the 16th of February 2014. The date is important as Google categorises images by popularity at that particular time, inevitably they change. Each image is the first one presented by Google for each word from the essay used as a search term. The words are then ordered alphabetically across six catalogues containing only images and page numbers. The number of times an image is repeated is representative of the amount of times that word is mentioned in the original text. The numbers in the index correspond to the page number and position of the image in the catalogues.
