Ultima Thule, Pictures from the Edge of the WorldTwenty miles of the coast of mainland Shetland lays Foula. With a fascinating population of twenty eight and not a single shop, it remains one of the most remote permanently inhabited islands in the British Isles. Captivated by curiosity, Jamie Travelled to Foula to discover the island for himself. The resulting project stands as a photographic document of the landscape and inhabitants he encountered. In medieval geographies, the term ultima thule denotes any distant place located at the borders of the known world.
