Woods, empty fields, old graveyards, and ivy filled gardens are perfect locations to photograph my subjects in. They are often associated with freedom and peace; places, where our minds are not distracted. My photographs are staged and I often take them with a slow shutter speed to blur parts of the subject's body as she's moving. The blurring gives the photograph a natural feel and makes her look as though she's moving through time stood still with no sense of a camera present. I've deliberately depicted the subject as lost in a mind that can't be understood by an outsider. Therefore, we're left to ponder over the photographs, as the meaning is not instantly apparent. Hazy colour images and contrasting black and whites have become more frequent in my work.
