Worlds Collide

Living in exciting times of expanding space exploration we are progressively exposed to new visuals of celestial structures. Photography is still a prominent method of documenting these extraterrestrial environments and is once again perceived as a credible witness of reality. In an investigation of transcending realities, 'Worlds Collide' explores the polarity between the real and the fabricated by appropriating elements from traditional landscapes to construct environments that solely exist in a state of hyperreality. In addition and motivated by a personal conflict of national dualism, the work seeks geographic consolidation through the digital compositing of Dutch and English landscapes.
