In my blood
For in my blood I have travelled back to the family home, in another country. Other lives are being lived out while I'm not there. How to survey the past, from happy childhood memories to the breakdown of family bonds and death? Working with the family's collection of photographs, alongside my own newly made images, this has become an examination of the transitions, that family photographs go through over time. Originally created by the family and for the family, images move from private to public sphere. Family photography continues to be the most commonly practiced form of photography across the world as practically every family has a camera. The images give a subtle way of understanding cultural similarities and differences.
