Bric a Brac
Bric a Brac explores the relationship between people and objects, it calls into question the life of discarded things donated to charity shops. These Second hand items are taken from the context of a cluttered charity shop and brought to a studio environment. Similar objects are categorised and presented together in a grid format. This form of presentation creates a linkage between items found in various charity shops around Dublin. Through investigating the kinds of miscellaneous items that are donated, it depicts the sheer amount of differing objects being produced and sold in contemporary society. The ethics of these objects are unknown but the re-selling of these unwanted items contribute towards a charitable cause.
