Ania Skup
Void
Void is a search into the means of belonging, isolation and identity; an exploration of a new environment that me and my family recently relocated to. I use the landscape of my new surroundings as a backdrop for my images. I study the landscape by looking from the outside in and the inside out. Using metaphor and symbolism, I portray a sense of displacement in my surroundings. I photograph my daughter, myself and other habitants of the forest that I encounter day-to-day and record it all, so to understand, my immediate emotions to these beings and the place that I struggle to call home.
