Captive birds that are kept seemingly open enclosures often have their wings clipped, pinioned or both in order to stop them flying away so that to the untrained eye they seem free, their desire to fly does not necessarily leave them, but over time they no longer try, they remain captive. The images are of a journey to re-discover the beauty in the everyday and in the liminal space in between. Reminiscent of dreams, transient movement and regaining freedom. There is a lingering sense of being trapped, representing the confinements of society largely by accepted traditions.
