Dayze mae Hayllor
A Surrey based photographer focusing on fashion and editorial photography, often influenced by fine art. Aims to flip conventions, and challenges the conformity of classic beauty imagery. An absence of retouching means images offer a more honest representation of her subjects to help them see the beauty within themselves. Key themes are identity, self-image, self-esteem and acceptance within digital culture. Works often explore the empowerment, but also dependency, around make-up. Practises in digital and analogue mediums, using both subjects and self-portraiture to convey her ideas. Encouraging viewers to reflect on their own relationship with themselves to inspire a positive change. Her images act as a form of self therapy and are a catalyst for wider change.
