Quiet in Midnight City
While studying abroad last year in Boston, Massachusetts, I created a body of work titled "Quiet in Midnight City". Coming from the British countryside, and having never lived in a city, it was very obvious to me how fast paced and loud life is in Boston. Leading me to sub-consciously try and find the peace and quiet that is so easy to come by at home. The images are urban-scapes that purposefully lack a human subject, to make the image still and create a sense of timelessness - so that the viewer may look at the image and not feel as if things are moving or changing. Sharing the sense of peacefulness in an otherwise sleepless city.
