“Brazin refers to photographs as snatching what they depict ‘from the flow time’ and ‘embalming’ the instant, rescuing it from the ‘corruption’ of times past”. This intimate set of still life studies have been created as a eulogy to the photographer’s late father. They are a deeply personal contemplation on the lasting emotional effects that come from losing a loved one. Objects can function as tangible links between the past and the present in the same way that photographs do. They become literal touchstones of memory.
