Breathing Space
'Breathing Space' explores place and experience, specifically my home and the hospital, regarding my chronic health condition. The project is a quiet observation that steps away from traditional scenes usually associated with ill health and the clinical environment. Instead, detailed are subtle observations of the two landscapes. Whilst Cystic Fibrosis served as a catalyst for this body of work, there are no boundaries on who and what it represents. Helping construct the narrative of ‘Breathing Space’ are floral abstracts. These page breaks encourage the act of breathing and in some instances, can reflect personal experience and feeling.
