All In My Possession
"Archives constitute the memory of nations and of societies, shape their identity, and are a cornerstone of the information society." - International Council on Archives. For the purpose of this project I have photographed and recorded every material item within my possession during the period between 12/10/06 and 24/04/07. As a less traditional archive, this work attempts to look at issues such as provenance, authority, memory and evidence that are affected in a variety of ways once photographs are detached from their original settings. These images hold clues to my history and thus may be considered a kind of self portrait. My objective is to take stock of my own existence.
