Paris Wood
Home Without Home
Most of us leave home at some point during our lives and can all relate to feelings of displacement and unsettlement having moved away from the familiar. Paris Wood's project Home Without Home is a personal study of her experience of moving away from home, which explores the feelings of displacement juxtaposed with contentment found within a new location. The photographs are combined with brief texts between herself and her parents that portray their communication between locations. The photographs appear banal, still and silent; intended not to convey negative emotions, but as an indication of something missing and distant.
