Steel Horizons
‘Steel Horizons’ features Blacklaw Windfarm – one of the largest in Scotland. It generates a total of 188 megawatts – enough to power tens of thousands of households a year, while saving 200,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. These images aim to challenge opinions about wind power, and question whether or not the doubts many have for it are valid. Many believe that these parks, with turbines reaching 260 feet, ruin the natural beauty of the countryside, despite the clean energy that they produce and the positive effects they have on the environment. The images were displayed on a map exactly where they were shot on location, allowing the viewer to experience the wind farm first hand, and form their own conclusions.
