PA14
‘PA14’ is the postcode of abandoned shipyard town Clune Park, situated in Port Glasgow. Following Margret Thatcher's privatisation of the ship building industry, subsequent closure of the Clune Park church in 1997 and Clune Park Primary school in 2008, the area has become plagued by widespread antisocial behaviours, leading to the deterioration of the once vibrant community. Through capturing the interiors of previously inhabited homes, accompanied by the perspective of previous resident David Small, the project explores themes of memory, loss, and the human condition. Shedding light on the challenges faced by the remaining residents of Clune Park, some of whom rightfully refuse to leave, while others are compelled to stay despite the adverse conditions.
