Landscape of Grief
My work is engaged with the universal themes of death, loss and grief. These images from my series Landscape of Grief illustrate the new life that has to be forged by those left behind after someone dies. The damp cards signify the support of friends, and many tears shed. The personal growth that happens after bereavement is referenced in the shoots growing from this framework, and the isolation of grief is referenced in the space around the subjects. Although the subject matter is dark, the images have a hopeful message about the future, the knowledge that life will continue.
