In 1982 the PRC inserted a law to increase control on the populace known as the one child rule. For a Chinese family this means only having one child, yet the minorities can have 2. Regardless as to whether the child lives or dies a woman will be sterilised after two with no option. Regardless of religious beliefs or the basic woman right to reproduce, today Tibetan women are still undergoing forced sterilisation, coerced abortions and fees have to be paid if over 2 children are born. These departments are referred to as Family Planning and Women Associations, warm names for a cold system. The PRC are seen as bullies within Tibetan society, which unfortunately get away with hideous crimes.
