Fugue
Fugue is a body of work dealing with disconnection from the world and dissociation from own identity. With growing stress and anxiety disorders slowly taking over our lives there is a profound interest in further exploring our psyche. My work aims to gain a better understanding of the relationship between reality and expectations by representing personal and intimate emotions that surface as a result of the oppressing paradox of life. Mirroring dominating drowning sensations associated with anxiety, these series also visually incorporate calm and peace in an attempt to escape the chaos of emotional withdrawal from self.
