Capitalising CultureUntil now it has been mostly independent companies and brands that delegated skate fashion, but these companies also came from and support skateboarding. The latest company to try capitalising off skateboarding is UK clothing giant Topman. This isn't the first time aspects of skate fashion have worked their way into street fashion though. The vulcanised shoe, such as Vans can be seen on every other person on the high street. Snap-back hats, skinny jeans and graphic t shirts have all been popularised by skateboarding and this copy cat culture has left many skaters angry that they think they can just steal their individuality. This series looks at everyday people on the street who wear clothes that have stemmed from skateboarding.
