Shooting Blind
“I can no longer see everything. I can’t see around the edges, I need light to act as a guide. There is no detail, things that used to be in view aren’t in view anymore.” When a person loses their sight, the way they navigate the world changes. The familiar falls out of focus, colours lose their saturation, the eye hones in on ‘concrete details’ or signposts, searching for areas of light which act as a guide through the alien spaces before them. Shooting blind through the pinhole, working in the dark, turning darkness into light, negatives into positives, created a series of images which attempts to open a window into the ethereal world of the blind.
