a shadow that grows larger as the sun moves
'a shadow that grows larger as the sun moves' is an installation that explores photography’s role in intimate relationships. A wooden freestanding wall structure with images on both sides, the work combines different approaches to image-making to speak to the construction of both intimacy and desire through photography; on one side of the wall are two studio collages made up of a selection of images taken over the course of a 10-year relationship - formal portraits, snapshots, phone pictures and WhatsApp messages. On the other side is a large scale vinyl print made through a series of material processes in the studio - an abstract, colourful and impenetrable surface with a silhouetted figure that repeats in the droplets of water.
