Murton Miners
This project focuses on the soul and history of Murton, one of many ex mining villages in the North East, within these photos and artifacts I wanted to share the essence of its resilience and the enduring spirit of those who worked there. Through intimate portraits that show a tapestry of experience and strength to candid shots that show the passage of time and impact these miners had on the village I wanted to share it to those outside. The many in this project who still call Murton their home are not just subjects, but story tellers, each line on their faces revealing a chapter of struggle and perseverance but also a form of community within them.
