Reece Coyle
`Puppets of Society`
The overarching theme of this project is to symbolically portray the hardships and challenges faced by individuals in this modern democratic society, highlighting a shift from a life of enjoyment to one of survival. The inspiration for this project came during my transition into my third decade of life, particularly influenced by the difficulties experienced in my late twenties. These visual compositions are not mere representations of reality, but rather powerful symbols that convey a deeper meaning and provoke thought and emotion. This project sheds light on the complex power dynamics inherent in democratic systems, emphasising the tension between those in positions of authority and those who experience hardship and marginalisation.
