Dylan Garcia
Brythonic
Dylan Garcia is a UK lens-based artist. His latest project Brythonic examines deep time, climate change and a country which is both real and mythological. Garcia notes: "As the British Isles heat up, they will return to their tropical past, leading to our fears of living in a drowned land." As such, Garcia's work deals with past and future civilisations and the balance between nature and humanity. Brythonic combines legends of flooded lands from, Wales (lowland Hundred) Cornwall (Lyonnesse) and Brittany (Ys). Dylan's Practice also deals with the hope we will survive the rising sea levels as we have in the past. Our present Global Warming will survive into the future in the form of legends (Geo-mythology).
